Grated Beetroot – 3 cups
Milk – 2 cups
Sugar – 1 ¼ cup
Cardamom Powder – 1/8 tsp
Ghee – 2 tsp
Nuts – To Garnish (I used pistachios)
1) In a heavy bottomed pan (I used the pressure cooker pan) add in the grated beetroot fry well for about 5 mins or till the raw smell leaves. Now add in the milk.
2) Cook well until the milk is completely gone .By this time the beetroot should also have been almost cooked .at this stage add in the sugar.
3) The sugar will starts to melt down and halwa will again become watery. Add this stage add in the cardamom powder and Ghee. Keep the stove in a medium flame and cook till the halwa starts leaving the edge of the pan. Garnish with nuts and serve.
- You can prepare carrot halwa by following the same recipe just by replacing beetroot with carrot
- You can also skip adding nuts if you don’t prefer.

Summer is at its peak now .We all love to have juices and ice creams more in this season. It is very important to drink lot of water in this season to keep the body hydrated.. However it’s healthier to have the fruits as such instead of juices as we add sugar in juices .Hence to keep our juices more healthy always try avoid adding sugar in juices .Instead add honey

Most of the household being their day with a cup of either coffee or Tea, Same applies to me as well .I am a coffee freak .I can never say no to coffee be any time of the say. Mutton chops is a tasty appetizer. This dish is from the north side of Tamil Nadu .I am not a big fan of mutton but this dish is an exception .I love it .Tastes good when served with Rasam and Steamed Rice. Always use tender mutton to prepare this dish .In some places if we ask the butcher to cut the mutton pieces for chops he cuts accordingly. Otherwise we can use medium sized mutton pieces with flesh and bones together.

Fish curry is a famous coastal recipe found throughout India. The recipe I have shared below is my family's traditional recipe. Fish curry recipes found in the Northern and other interior parts of TamilNadu are very different. So I have shared the recipe found specifically in the South Coastal regions. It is rich and mouth watering and simple. You may need to put a little more effort in making it than you normally do but, the end result will be worth your effort. So go ahead and try it. Good Luck!!!

Sautéed chicken is an easy lip smacking appetizer. It can be served with any Biryani/Pulao or with Indian Flat bread. I have added Kashmiri red chilli powder it gives a nice colour to the dish by this way we can prevent adding artificial colour to our food. The veggies are added after the chicken is half cooked is to maintain the crunchy texture of them.
