Janssons Frestelse is a famous Swedish casserole prepared specially for Christmas Dinner ,the speciality of this dish is that it uses pickled sprats (a type of fish) those are very common in Sweden and hence in my recipe is have not added any sprats and made as a veg dish. However sprats can be replaced by any fish fillet, it tastes good.
Basically Janssons Frestelse is a potato gratin prepared with pickled sprats and onions along with fresh cream. Now let get started.

Chilli flakes as needed
Step by step Method with pictures:
1. Butter a casserole or any baking dish generously .Line it with a layer of sliced onions ,next spread it with a layer of sliced potatoes .Next if you prefer add in the fish fillet. Traditional method calls for the fish layer too.
