Moru Curry recipe/ Kerala Style Buttermilk Curry with step by step photos. Moru Curry is another humble and easy Onam Sadhya (Grand Feast ) dish that don’t fail to show up. It can be prepared in just few mins but tastes really great which is why it is the favourite dish of many. I have already posted Lady’s Finger Butter milk Curry recipe which uses a ground coconut based masala .However this version is totally different.
You can prepare the curry watery or thick based on your preference. Now let’s see how to prepare Kerala Style Moru Curry.

Step by step Method with pictures:
1. In a mixing bowl take thick curd. Beat well till it becomes creamy. Heat oil in a kadai once it becomes hot add in Mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds let them splutter.
2. Next add in the Chopped Shallot and crushed Ginger fry for few secs and then add in the Green Chilli and Dry Red Chilli and Curry leaves
3. Mix everything and let them fry for few secs .and then add in Salt and Turmeric powder Mix well.
4. Now add in the curd and stir. Cook in a low flame until the curd is about to boil and switch off the flame.
Tastes best with Rice and any spicy vegetable stir Fry.

Calories:
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- Yogurt / Thick Curd – 1 cup
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Salt as needed
- Water as needed
To Temper :
- Coconut oil – 2 tsp
- Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds – ¼ tsp
- Shallots /small Onions – 5-6
- Crushed Ginger – 1 tsp
- Green Chilli – 2
- Dry Red Chilli – 2
- Curry Leaves a generous spring
Instructions
