photos .Preparing different kinds of Chutneys and Dosa from vegetables and peels
are very common in Mangalore cuisine .It is one of their specality.I have come
across this cucumber dosa from my colleagues. I felt this is really one easy
way to feed our family some vegetables.
My hubby and daughter are picky
when it comes to vegetables so this dosa was my choice to feed them some cucumber.
Cucumber dosa is an instant version and cucumber can be replaced with carrot
and tomato too. Now let’s see how to prepare yummy cucumber dosa.
Cucumber Dosa Recipe

Dosa
Batter – 1 cup
Salt to
taste
To Grind:
Chopped
Cucumber – ½ cup
Green
Chilli – 1
Ginger
a small piece
Coriander
leaves – 1 tbsp
Method :
1.
Grind the ingredients mentioned in the
“To Grind” section to a fine puree.
2.
In a vessel take dosa batter and to
this add in the ground cucumber puree. Mix well and then add in Salt and mix
well.
3.
Heat the dosa pan ,once hot pour a ladle
full of dosa batter .Drizzle oil over the edges of the dosa and Cover cook
for few secs.
4.
Flip the dosa and cook till it is
done. Serve hot.
Notes:

Tastes good when served with Chutney
or Sambar.

Makes an excellent breakfast.

Adjust the spiciness as per your
preference.

ReplyDeleteTo tell you the truth I have never tried adding any puree to the dosa batter, though I like the idea. It will definitely make it very flavorful..cucumber and chllies sounds fantastic in a dosa. Will try this recipe the next time I make dosas.
ReplyDeleteI usually grind the cucumber with the rice . This instant version sounds very easy! And it is definitely a good way to feed veggies to children who otherwise hate them!
