Thengai Sevai Recipe | Coconut Sevai | Coconut rice nodules with step by step photos .Idiappamis a common breakfast in the Kerala and TamilNadu states of India. There are so many variations that can be made to this simple Rice noodules. Coconut sevai is almost similar to the coconut rice recipes whereas rice is replaced by sevai. Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time : 10 mins |Serves: 2 |Author :Sharmila Kingsly Ingredients:
Cooked Sevai /Idiyappam – 2 cups Grated Coconut – ½ cup
Salt as needed
Oil / Ghee – 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Green Chilli – 2
Cashew nuts – 5 pieces broken
Hing / Asafoetida a generous pinch
Curry Leaves a spring
Method:
1. In a pan heat in oil or ghee to this add in Mustard Seeds, Urad Dal, Green Chilli, Cashew nuts, Hing.Saute well.
2. Next add in the salt and mix well.
3. Then add in the cooked coconut and saute for 2 mins.Keep the cooked sevai ready.
4. Finally add in the cooked sevai along with the coconut in the pan and mix well. Switch off the stove.
Notes:
· Serve with Jaggery powder or just sugar.
· It will also go well with Sambar and chutney.
