Fish Puttu Recipe | Meen Puttu | Shredded Fish Stir

puttu is a popular south Indian Sea Food Recipe. It is usually prepared with Shark
(Sura meen) Fish. We can also use any fish which has less bones.
It pairs very well with rice. It is very good
for lactating mothers as it increases the breast milk supply. Now let’s see how
to prepare Meen Puttu.

Fish – ½ kg
Onion – 2
Green Chilli – 3
Oil – 2 tbsp
Fennel seeds -1 tsp
Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Curry Leaves a spring
Ginger garlic paste – 1
tbsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Pepper powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Salt as needed
Coconut – 2 tbsp
Coriander leaves to
garnish
Method :
1.
In a pan add in water once it boils
add in a required salt and a pinch of turmeric powder and cook the fish till it’s
done and swift off the flame. Allow it to cool down and then. Remove the
bones from the fish and shred the fish in to small pieces.
2.
Heat oil in a pan once it heats up add
in Mustad Seeds, fennel seeds,urad dal let it crackle and then add in curry
leaves and ginger garlic paste. Cook till the raw smell leaves. Then add in
chopped onions and green chilli.
3.
Cook till they turn glossy and then
add in the shredded fish pieces and saute in a low flame for 5 mins.
4.
Next add in Chili powder, Turmeric powder,
Pepper powder and the required salt and cook in a low flame for 5 mins.Next
add in freshly grated coconut and mix well.
5.
Garnish with coriander leaves and switch
off the flame. Serve hot with rice.
Notes:

Serve as a snack.

Keeps well for 4 days.

Store it in a refrigerator till
serving.
