Beetroot Javarisi Payasam | Sabudana Kheer Recipe with Beetroot with step by step pictures. This is a sweet delicacy is made by soaking the Sabudana and then cooked with milk finally flavored with ghee roasted beetroot puree. I have already posted Beetroot vermicelli kheer.
Since then I was in awe with that lovely pink tinted kheer. Hence it made me to try beetroot sago kheer. Those beautiful tiny sago added a great texture to the kheer.
Beetroot is a lovely vegetable perfect for desserts. And Beetroot halwa is one commonly made dessert.

How to make Beetroot Kheer
2.    Roast till the raw smell leaves and when it is almost cooked switch off the stove and blend it to a fine paste in the blender.</span>

4.    Meanwhile add in the sugar and mix well. When the sago is cooked completely add in the cardamom powder and mix well.
Tips & Variations
 You can add in Condensed milk to kheer instead of sugar.

Beetroot Sago Kheer |Beetroot Sabudana Kheer
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- â…“ cup Beetroot grated
- ½ cup Sago
- 4 cup Milk
- ½ cup Sugar
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Cardamom powder
- 8 Cashew nuts
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pan add in cashew nuts and roast till golden and then set aside. Remove it and add in the grated beetroot.
- Roast till the raw smell leaves and when it is almost cooked switch off the stove and blend it to a fine paste in the blender.
- Soak the sago in water for 15 mins and then in a pan add in milk and the soaked sago and continue cooking.
- Meanwhile add in the sugar and mix well. When the sago is cooked completely add in the cardamom powder and mix well.
- Now add in the beetroot puree to the kheer and mix well, simmer it for few mins and the switch off. Finally add in the ghee fried nuts. Beetroot Sago kheer is now ready.
