Before Pongal, I bought a packet of Wheat rava to post some dishes for Pongal and then I tries wheat rava kesari ,Wheat rava sweet Pongal, and Wheat rava Ven Pongal everything came out super delicious. Also as the wheat rava which I bought was really fine,I thought of trying out rava idli .so I tweaked my Rava Idli recipe and tried it with wheat rava to my surprise it came out really good.
2. Heat a pan with oil once its hot add in the mustard seeds and Cumin Seeds let them splutter and then add in the urad dal, green chili, and crushed ginger saute for few secs. Next, add in the Cashew nuts roast till golden, and then add in the curry leaves and grated carrots.
3. Saute for 2 mins and then switch off the flame. Now to the Broken wheat rava add in the required water and then add in the sauteed ingredients.
4. Next, add in the chopped coriander leaves and mix everything together.
5. Finally, add in the required salt and cooking soda. Mix well and allow the batter to sit for 30 mins.
6. After 30 mins. Heat a idli steamer pan with water .apply oil to the idli plates and then pour the prepared batter in the idli plates. Steam cook for 10 mins in medium flame or till the idli is cooked fully. Serve hot with Sambar and Chutney.

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- Broken Wheat Rava – 1 ½ cups
- Curd – 1 cup
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
- Urad Dal – 1 tsp
- Curry Leaves – 1 spring
- Green Chilli – 1
- Ginger – 1 tsp
- Cashew nuts – 8
- Grated Carrot – 2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
- Salt as needed
- Cooking Soda – ½ tsp
Instructions
- Take the broken wheat rava in a bowl to this add in the curd mix well and keep aside. I used roasted rava if not roast the rava in 1 tsp oil until aromatic before adding it with curd.

Notes
