Prawn Bajji Recipe | Iral Bajji

popular evening snack which is served along with tea, It can be made with any
vegetables most popularly with Raw Banana, Potato, Onion or Gobi.
Prawn bajji is something very different from the
usual, it is very popular in Pondicherry. It makes a great appetizer and can be
served even as a side dish with biryani.

Ingredients:
Prawn – ¼ kg
Oil for deep frying
Chick pea flour – ¼ cup
Water – ¼ cup
approximately
Chilli powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Cooking Soda – ¼ tsp
Idli dosa Batter – 1 tbsp
Salt as needed
Garam Masala – ¼ tsp
For Marinade:
Ginger garlic paste – 1
tsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Salt as needed
Method :
1. Clean and devein
the prawns. To this add in the ginger garlic paste, Chilli powder, Turmeric
powder and the required Salt.
2. Mix well and
allow it to marinate for 30 mins, after that in a pan add in 1 tsp oil and cook
the marinated Prawns in a medium flame for 5 mins and set aside.
3. In a mixing bowl
add in the chickpea flour, Chilli powder, Turmeric powder and Salt.
4. Add water little
by little and bring it to a dosa batter consistency.
5. Add in a tbsp. of
idli dosa batter and cooking soda and mix well. Meanwhile heat oil in a pan
for deep frying.
6. Now drop in the
prawn to the prepared batter and coat the prawns fully.
7. Drop in hot oil
and cook the prawns in a medium flame until its golden and cooked fully. Drain
in paper towels to remove the excess oil and then serve hot.
