Focaccia is a popular bread from Italy, It is similar to Pizza and it is usually topped with herbs, onions, tomato and even meat at times. The focaccia can also be used as a base for pizza.
How to prepare Focaccia Bread, Pictorial
1. In a bowl take lukewarm water and add in the dry yeast and set it aside for 5 mins let it get activated. Meanwhile add in All-purpose flour in a mixing bowl add in Salt, sugar and Olive oil.
2. Give a quick mix and then by this time the yeast would have got activated. Now add in Yeast mixture to the flour.
3. Mix well and bring it together to form a soft dough. Now cling wrap the bowl along with the dough and let it rest in a dark place for about 1 ½ hours. The dough would have proofed up by this time.
4. Now punch out the air and then using a rolling pin roll out to form a thick flatbread of any desired shape. Place it in a baking tray.
5. Use your hand and form small impressions throughout the bread brush it generously with olive oil .Now top it will onion slices and tomato pieces. Cling wrap it once again and set for 30 mins.
6. Preheat the oven at 180 Deg C for about 10 mins and then bake at 180 Deg C for about 20-25 mins until the break moved freely on the baking pan and the crust turns golden.
Tasty Focaccia is now ready to serve 🙂

Notes
Feel free to experiment with the toppings as per your wish.
Oregano, Italian seasoning, chili flakes, and rose Mary if added give a nice flavor.
Tastes good when tasted with Tomato sauce.
