Sunday Lunch always calls for
some delicious food but when we are not well and still want to have some delicious
food. Some easy and delicious recipes comes handy so this prawn vadai is one
such dish. Just grab all the ingredients grind it. Shape into patties and fry
tada Prawn Vadai is ready is less time. I adapted this recipe from Divya’sblog. I wanted to try this for a long time finally today is the day. Now let’s
get started with the recipe.

Ingredients
To Grind :
Prawn –
¼ kg
Freshly
grated Coconut – ¼ cup
Shallots
– 6-8
Ginger –
½ inch piece
Garlic
pods – 5
Green
Chilli – 2
Chilli
powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric
powder – ¼ tsp
Salt as
needed
Other Ingredients:
Onion –
1 medium sized
Fennel
seeds – 1 tsp
Coriander
Leaves – ¼ cup tightly packed
Rice
flour – 2 tbsp
Oil for
deep frying
Curry Leaves
– a spring
Method:
1. Clean and de-vein the prawn
and set it ready. In a blender add in the prawns, coconut along with all the ingredients
mentioned in the “To grind” table.
2. Now take the ground mix to a
big bowl to this add in the Rice flour, Chopped onions, Coriander leaves,
Curry Leaves and Fennel Seeds. Mix everything well so that all the
ingredients are mixed evenly.
3. Divide the dough into equal
sized small shaped balls and flatten it. Heat oil for deep frying. Once the
oil is hot drop in 4-5 Vada’s per batch and start frying.
4. Once the Vada’s are cooked
strain it and place in paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Notes:

The cooking time may depend on the size of vada you make.
·
Mine was very small bite sized vada’s as my little one prefers it this
way. So Adjust the shape as per your preference.

Frying the vada in coconut oil makes it more delicious.
·
Add in few curry leaves and Red Chilli in the oil while frying it
brings in a nice flavour.
