Sardine Fish are very common in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the Coastal Region so a delicious fish fry is always welcome in any sea food lover’s house. As per wiki Sardine Fish is a very good source of vitamin and Minerals. Apart from the cleaning part I like to cook sardines happily. Now let’s get started.

Sardine Fish | Chala Meen – 10 nos
Chilli powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Pepper powder – ½ tsp
Salt as needed
Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Curry Leaves a spring
Coconut oil for shallow frying
Method:
1. Clean the fish and make slits. In a mixing bowl add in all the spice powders mentioned in the ingredients list. Next add in the lemon juice and mix all the spice powders well.
2. Now add in the cleaned fish to the spice powders and allow it to marinate for about 30 mins – 1 hour .Next heat a tawa with coconut oil and add in the marinated fish and shallow fry.
3. Flip in regular intervals and make sure the fish don’t break. Add in curry leaves in the oil for a nice flavour. Once the fish is completely cooked strain in paper towel and serve hot.
Notes:
Make sure you don’t break the fishes while flipping.
Drain the excess oil with paper towels and then serve.
Any regular oil can be used for cooking, But coconut oil and curry leaves addition give an awesome aroma to the fish.
Instead of shallow frying it can also be deep fried.
