How about adding Keerai and preparing an awesome and delicious Sambar, have kids in home whom don’t eat Keerai, here comes one awesome way to feed them Karai. Keerai Sambar is a delicious Kuzhambu that goes very well with Steamed Rice and any fries.
My hubby hates Keerai so now I found one awesome way to make him eat keerai. He never complains whenever I prepare Keerai Sambar and I am equally happy JNow let’s get started.

Step by step Method with pictures:
1. Pressure cook the Toor Dal until it is fully done and set aside. Soak Tamarind in Water and extract juice out of it and set aside. Now heat a kadai and add oil ,once it heats up add in Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds and Fenugreek Seeds
2. Next add in Dry Red Chilli, Curry Leaves and Hing fry well and then add in chopped Shallots.
4. Mix well, next add in Sambar powder and Salt, and finally add in chopped Keerai/Greens.
5. Allow it to cook till the keerai is fully done. Finally add in cooked Dal. Mix everything well add water if required and the cook in low flame for about 5 mins and then switch off the flame.
Serve Keerai Sambhar with Steamed Rice and any fries.

Keerai Sambar
Keerai Sambar is a delicious Kuzhambu that goes very well with Steamed Rice and any fries.

Calories:
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- Keerai/ Greens – 1 cup tightly packed
- Toor Dal – ½ cup
- Shallots – 10 nos
- Green Chilli – 2
- Tamarind – Gooseberry sized
- Turmeric powder ½ tsp
- Sambar Powder – 1 tbsp
- Salt as needed
- Water as needed
To Temper:
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds – ¼ tsp
- Dry Red Chilli – 3
- Hing a pinch
- Curry Leaves a spring
Instructions

- Mix well, next add in Sambar powder and Salt, and finally add in chopped Keerai/Greens.
- Allow it to cook till the keerai is fully done. Finally add in cooked Dal. Mix everything well add water if required and the cook in low flame for about 5 mins and then switch off the flame.
Notes
- Add water with Care as the keerai also tends to leave water.
- Keerai Sambar pairs well with Steamed rice and Potato Fry
