Crab Masala or Nandu masala is a delicious dish to go with any flatbreads or Rice. It is a perfect sea food treat.

As we need to break open the shells of crab and then eat the flesh. I learnt this recipe from my mother in law. She cooks crab masala really the best way.
How to Prepare Crab Masala
2.    Heat a kadai with oil Once its hot add in mustard seeds let it splutter and then add Cumin Seeds ,Green Chilli and  curry leaves saute and then add in the chopped onions saute till glossy.
3.    Next add in ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell leaves and then add in tomatoes and cook till they leave oil.
4.    Now add in the chilli powder, Coriander powder,Garam masala and turmeric powder mix well add in ½ cup of water and mix well.
5.    Next add in the required salt and then cook and cook till the prawns are cooked. The shell turn light pink once the crab is cooked this is the indication and it gets cooked really fast.
6.    Finally garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the flame.

Crab Masala
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
To Marinate:
- Crab /Nandu – ½ kg
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Salt as needed
Other Ingredients:
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Green Chilli – 2
- Curry Leaves – a spring
- Onion – 1
- Tomato – 1
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Garam Masala – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Water as needed
- Salt as needed
- Coriander leaves to garnish
Instructions
- Clean the Crab to this add in Turmeric powder and salt.Rub it over the crab and set aside for 15 mins.
