Banana Flowers Spinach Khichdi | Vazhaipoo Keerai Khichdi
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- Oil / Ghee– 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
- Bay leaf - 1
- Green Chilli – 2
- Crushed ginger – 1 tsp
- Garlic pods – 5
- Cashew Nuts - 8
- Onion – 1
- Tomato – 1
- Rice – ½ cup
- Moong Dal – 2 tbsp
- Banana Flowers– 2 tbsp
- Spinach – ½ cup
- Water – 3 cups
- Turmeric power – ¼ tsp
- Salt as needed
- Coriander leaves to garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl add in the Rice along with moong dal and wash well and soak in water till you use. Heat a pressure cooker with ghee. Once its hot add in the Mustard seeds and cumin seeds let it splutter and then Green Chilli and Bay leaf, Saute for few secs. Next add in the crushed ginger and green chilli saute for few secs and then add in the Bay leaf. Add in the garlic pods.
