  Step by step Method with pictures:Â
  1.    Peel the skin of the onion and chop them to slices. In a mixing bowl add in the gram flour, Chilli powder, Turmeric powder, Hing and Salt. Add water little by little and mix well to form a thick batter.
2.    To the batter add in the cooking soda and whisk well. set it for 10 mins. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
3.    Dip the chopped onion slices in the batter. The batter must coat the onion fully and then deep fry in hot oil in a medium flame until the bajji is turned golden or fully cooked. Drain in a kitchen towel to remove the excess oil and serve hot.

Onion Bajji | Vengaya Bajji
Onion Bajji or Vengaya Bajji is a yummy evening snack made with onions, Besan, and other Spices which is then deep fried and served hot.

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- Onion – 3
- Gram Flour / Chickpea flour / Kadala maavu – ½ cup
- Chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt as needed
- Cooking Soda a pinch
- Hing a pinch
- Oil – 1 for deep frying
Instructions

Notes
Don’t cook on a high flame. Batter changes colorfast but the onion might get cooked fully and hence cook in a medium to low flame.
Serve hot with tea.
